The Practice Theme Committee (PTC) of the Academy of Management is proud to announce the call for our two awards which will be awarded at our annual meeting in Vancouver in August, 2015:
The PTC PRACTICE IMPACT AWARD and the PTC RESEARCH CENTER IMPACT AWARD.
Please find below full nomination details and information for each of the awards. Please note that sending mere individual or organizational names does not constitute a nomination, therefore please supply all necessary information to nominate. The awards include a PTC Award Plaque and will be presented during the PTC Welcome and Awards Ceremony at the AOM Annual Meeting in Vancouver in August 2015.

PRACTICE IMPACT AWARD (PIA)
The AOM Practice Impact Award is a prestigious and highly valued award that seeks to recognize and celebrate an outstanding scholar for her or his contribution to research and theory in practice based studies and overall impact on managerial and organizational practices. The nominee should have a track record of quality publications in academic journals and books, and preferably recognized practitioner relevant journals as well as other outlets that demonstrate impact at a wider level (government reports, OECD reports, etc.).

2015 NOMINATION PROCESS
Who is eligible to nominate?
Any member of the Academy of Management may nominate candidates.
Who can be nominated?
Any scholar with a proven track record of advancing theory, research and practice from a practice based studies approach can be nominated.
How long is the period for nominations?
The nomination period opens February 11th and closes April 1st, 2015 (EST).
Award recipients will be contacted via email on May 15th, 2015.
How to submit a nomination?
Please send your nomination with the following as a minimum requirement: A cover letter detailing the accomplishments of the individual relevant to the scope of this award (of no more than 2 pages) and the nominee's CV (max of 6 pages), as well as at least one but no more than three letters of support detailing why this recipient is a worthy recipient of the award (no more than 2 pages) to ptcawards@newcastle.ac.uk.
Please use the following subject line: PIA 2015_[Name of nominee], e.g. PIA 2015_John B. An academic. Self-nominations that fulfil all requirements are also welcome.
RESEARCH CENTER IMPACT AWARD (RCIA)
The PTC Research Center Impact Award aims to recognize the contribution that research centers make to the practice of management in the public, private, and/or third sectors. Research Centers must specifically demonstrate how knowledge gained through the research and programs conducted by the centers have made an impact to management practice. The PTC Research Centre Impact Award is designed to promote the AOM's strategic intent of professional impact. The awards seeks to recognize and celebrate an outstanding research project or programme of research conducted either independently or in collaboration with industry that has had a major and demonstrable impact on management practice or has made a significant difference to the recipients of the research (be it in private, government, non-government and third sectors). Previous recipients of the PTC Research Center Impact Award have been the Center for Effective Organizations at the University of Southern California and the Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship at The University of Michigan.

How to submit a nomination?
If you wish to nominate a research center, please forward this email on to the director of the research center (or equivalent) that you wish to nominate, and cc the Chair of the Awards Committee of the Practice Theme Committee, Christof Backhaus, at christof.backhaus@ncl.ac.uk, who will provide a nomination form template and further details. The form may then be filled out by the director of the research center, detailing information on (1) the project/programme of work to which the nomination refers, (2) a list of organisations/groups that have collaborated or contributed to the project/programme of work to which the nomination refers, and (3) a statement detailing why this center is a worthy recipient of the award. In addition, any other information that will assist in the evaluation of the project/programme can be included as well (e.g., supporting letters from beneficiaries).
