APPOINTMENT: July 1, 2012
QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate from an AACSB accredited institution in management, marketing, supply chain management, human resource management or a closely related discipline; demonstrated record of distinguished teaching, research/scholarship, and service; experience in curriculum development, program expansion, student recruitment and retention, faculty recruitment and development, and fiscal management; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills; effective written and oral communication skills; ability to work with multiple constituencies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in academic administration; experience with AACSB accreditation; a record of involvement in professional societies and in community relations; experience with faculty evaulation; fund raising skills; and familiarity with a faculty collective bargaining agreement.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruiting, supervising, and evaluating faculty and support staff; long- and short-range planning; managing departmental budgets; supporting faculty development; supporting reaffirmation of AACSB accreditation; promoting excellence in teaching; establishing teaching schedules; preparing annual assessment reports; coordinating efforts to recruit and retain undergraduate and graduate students; maintaining strong alumni relations; promoting curriculum development; communicating clearly and openly with the department; representing the department to the College and University; communicating expectations of the University administration to the department faculty and staff; and performing other administrative duties.

THE DEPARTMENT:The Management and Marketing Department is one of seven academic units in the College of Business and Technology at Western Illinois University (WIU). The Department offers an AACSB accredited bachelor of business degree with majors in Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management, and minors in Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, International Business, and Operations Management. The Department plays a major role in the delivery of the MBA. The Department offers programs at both the Macomb and the Quad Cities campuses. The Department has 33 full-time faculty members, including seven faculty members at the Quad Cities campus and three support staff members.
