Sloan School of Management

Faculty Position in
Organization Studies
The Organization Studies Group at the MIT Sloan School of Management
invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in
Organization Studies at a senior level, although junior level candidates
will also be considered. Candidates must have their Ph.D. at the start of
employment.
Candidates must have a strong research program in any area of organization
studies, micro or macro. All approaches, all perspectives, and all
methods are welcome. Ideally, at least some of the research program will
be related to leadership broadly construed. Faculty duties include
teaching in organization studies courses at MBA, doctoral, and/or
executive levels, including leadership courses. Participation and
collaboration in the activities and programs of the MIT Leadership Center
is highly desired, especially for a senior appointment.
The Organization Studies Group includes faculty with interests in many
different organizational phenomena, using research approaches that span
ethnography, multivariate quantitative analysis, and lab experimentation.
Our group is part of the Behavioral and Policy Sciences Area, one of three
major areas at Sloan. We encourage multidisciplinary work with colleagues
in other parts of the School, and several members of the group are also
members of other groups in the School (Information Technology, System
Dynamics, Communication, Strategy).
Please submit applications electronically at
http://sloanfacultysearches.mit.edu/org_studies
providing a cover letter outlining interests and experience, a current CV,
and one or two papers that indicate your research focus and capabilities.
Applicants should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be
submitted via this link. Applications are due October 31, 2012.
MIT is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culturally
diverse and pluralistic intellectual community and strongly encourages
applications from women and minorities.
