Dear colleagues:

The conference is co-sponsored by EURAM and Kent Business School.
Title: Democratising Diversity Management in Europe Future research directions and challenges
Date: Monday 12th November 2012, Time: 10:30am to 3:00pm
Location: University of Kent (Kent Business School, Canterbury, CT2 7PE, UK)
Description:
Current debates in diversity management point to the need for reassessment of existing structures, processes, and diversity management practices to create democratic, inclusive and productive workplaces.
This workshop is jointly sponsored by the European Academy of Management (EURAM) Gender, Race and Diversity in Organizations (Special Interest Group) and the Centre for Employment, Competitiveness & Growth of Kent Business School. It seeks to develop future research and practices of diversity management in the light of multi-level, intersectional and other non-mainstream approaches.
The resurgence of backlash to gender, race, religion, and other dimensions of diversity in various countries in Europe necessitates a reassessment of the challenge and formulation of an academic response which is equally useful for employees, organizations and democratic societies.
The workshop will build on early career scholars' knowledge by developing their understanding of key theoretical and methodological perspectives that seek to explain the persistence of inequality regimes in organisations, and identification of future issues, challenges and research directions.
Organisers:
