Assistant Professor of Leadership and Administrative Sciences

We are seeking a colleague to teach graduate level courses in leadership and action research methodology, to maintain a stream of quality applied research, and to fulfill service responsibilities commensurate with the position. This position would begin August 2014, pending funding. Bethune Cookman University seeks individuals who are highly student centered and involved in thesis advising, while maintaining our own culture of excellence and dedication to quality online teaching and research.
With a student body of about 3500 undergraduate and master's level graduate students, we are a partially residential campus that attracts non-traditional as well as traditionally-aged students (many are first-generation college). Even in these challenging economic times, we have continued to build new facilities and have kept a strong enrollment.
The Leadership and Administrative Sciences department is a supportive and collegial environment, where faculty are committed to teaching and to research as we serve our students and the surrounding community. Our curriculum includes courses in leadership theory, critical reflection and transformative leadership, organizational change and dynamics, leadership and civic engagement, multicultural global leadership and action research methodology.
Candidates should have a doctorate in organization and leadership, and strong research skills, preferably in action research or qualitative research. Those with doctoral completion dates prior to August 2015 will also be considered. Work experience outside of academe is welcomed.
