    Dear Colleagues,

    I need assistance.

    Does anyone know of software that can do the following: scan a table from a
    magazine (e.g., Fortune or Business week - paper version) into pdf and then
    export to excel. There are so many tables. So, manually inputting the data
    into excel will be cumbersome and time-consuming.

    I hope someone on this listserv has experienced and solved an identical
    problem. I’d appreciate the person’s assistance.

    Adobe XI and Able2Extract pdf converter are a couple I would suggest you look into.

    Not sure exactly what sort of charts or tables you're using, but both of these can take data from PDF and export it into Excel.

    David,

    I have Adobe Acrobat X. In Acrobat X, in the opened PDF file, click on File --> Save As --> Spreadsheet --> Microsoft Excel Workbook or XML Spreadsheet 2003. You might still need to clean up your spreadsheet once it's converted. Hope this helps!
