Hello GDO Listserv Members,
You may have noticed a barrage of posts from many of the listservs yesterday. Not everyone got the same messages, but it is clear that some old posts went out again from not only the GDO listserv, but others as well.
I have been aware of several different issues with the listserv in the past couple of weeks. I have been in correspondence with AOM Tech services with each and every issue, so they have been made aware of what is going on from the user end of things. It appears that messages are going out to most members, but not to all. Sometimes, members are told they don't have access to the listserv to post their messages, when they are active members. Some drop requests are not being processed. All of these issues are sporadic and are related to the system needing to be rebuilt. I have been waiting for the update from tech services so that the information in this message was accurate-I got that update today.
I received an update from Greg Gerosa, our AOM Tech Specialist today, in sum:
1) The listservs need to be rebuilt. According to Greg, "all of the division listservs are affected to some degree. We have scheduled the rebuild to begin on June 30th with reliable service restored by Monday the 1st."
2) Greg said that they "repaired a temporary issue with the ListServ yesterday which caused it to recreate old messages. We apologize for this issue and we have resolved it."
If you have issues, please let me know. I am keeping a log of issues, which I will summarize and forward to AOM Tech Services, so they are kept in the loop as to what is going on from the user side of things.
