Hello to our GDO members! We are very excited to once again offer a GDO sponsored Junior Faculty Consortium (JFC) at the AOM meetings in Philadelphia in August. Our JFC will be on Friday, August 1st from 9-12:30 pm. Please see the description & details below. ** Note the amazing scholars who have agreed to be part of this session. **
Registration is required in order for us to customize our sessions as much as possible and must be completed by June 30th. Please contact me at dblancero@bentley.edu if you are interested in registering and I can provide more information. I can tell you from personal experience that attending a session like this one, where you are networking with peers at your level and interacting with more senior people, is very valuable. It is never too early to build your networks for scholarly and professional growth. And, it is always beneficial to interact with those who you may want to use for those very important tenure support letters.

Designed to support the needs of pre-tenure faculty who are members of or affiliated with the GDO division, the Junior Faculty Consortium provides exposure to a broad range of scholars. In the past and particularly via feedback from last year's cohort, junior faculty voiced a need for opportunities to discuss concerns that impact their success in the field and to allow them time to network. Specifically, their concerns included: preparation for and navigating the tenure process, appropriately managing stress and potential burnout associated with junior faculty roles and responsibilities, managing the political environment, ensuring research and publication success, instructional techniques, and classroom management. Participants will benefit from interactive activities, presentations and in-depth discussions lead by mid-level and senior faculty. Participants will also hear from representatives from the leading journals in the management field. Pre-registration is required for this workshop.
