  • 1.  Gender and the Workplace Syllabus

    Posted 08-21-2014 11:38
    Hello all-

I am developing a syllabus for a cross-listed (Business and GWST) course entitled "Gender and the Workplace".

If anyone has examples of syllabi, reading materials, or activities for similar courses (or just generally on gender issues in the workplace), could you please send them directly to me at eboyd17@kennesaw.edu? I will then forward a complete list to the listserv.

    Thanks so much in advance!

    Liz

    Hi Liz,

I have published a textbook entitled "Women and Men in Management" (http://www.sagepub.com/books/Book233745?siteId=sage-us&prodTypes=any&q=Powell&fs=1) as well as a workbook of classroom exercises entitled "Managing a Diverse Workforce: Learning Activities" (http://www.sagepub.com/books/Book234896?siteId=sage-us&prodTypes=any&q=Powell&fs=1) with Sage Publications. Both books would be suitable for your course. The workbook also contains exercises on other diversity topics that could be useful.

I have attached the most recent syllabus for my course on the topic, which is an MBA elective. Good luck with your course!

    Best wishes,

    Gary Powell

Hello everyone I am seeking any new research specifically in the area of academia that contains leadership styles (situational, transformational or others) when compared to mentorship of the African American, or Caucasian woman in pre-tenure or tenured status.
