Dear GDO Members:
Happy 2015 to all of you!
I very much hope you are planning to submit a paper or symposium for presentation at the 2015 Academy of Management meeting. The due date is Tuesday, January 13th, 5:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time. Because I am looking forward to having a mountain of exciting submissions, I want to alert you to the need to comply strictly with the submission guidelines. My hope is that this reminder will prevent any problems that could lead to unnecessary rejections and disappointment.
Before submissions can be processed by the automated program that matches them to appropriate reviewers, they must be checked in to assure that they meet AoM guidelines. This time-consuming but mandatory review always uncovers noncompliant submissions. Sadly, every year many submissions are rejected before review because they do not meet the submission guidelines. GDO wants to offer a vibrant inclusive program, so please do not let this happen to you.
Over the years, the most common problems have been:
1) The margins, font, and/or line spacing were too small; after correcting this issue, the manuscript was significantly over the 40-page limit. Authors must format manuscript properly and stay with the limit.
2) The manuscript did not include a title for the paper.
3) The submission number was not on each page of the manuscript; before submission, authors need to go through the steps of generating a submission number and inserting it in their document properly.
4) The submission number included did not correspond to the one that was generated for the submission; authors must be sure to capture and insert the submission number correctly.
5) One or more of the figures did not upload properly. Authors must convert their documents to PDF and ensure that the figures converted correctly before submitting the documents.
If you have any questions about the guidelines, please use these resources.

Again, we want to review every submission and to accept as many papers and symposia as possible, so please help us in that process by reviewing carefully and complying with the submission guidelines.
Best wishes,
Doug Creed
