    We would like to inform you that we have extended the nomination deadlines for the D&ITC / PTC BEST PRACTICE in DIVERSITY & INCLUSION AWARD and the PTC RESEARCH CENTER IMPACT AWARD to April 15th, 2015. Please not that nominators who have already submitted their nomination can send any additional supporting information for their nomination to us by April 15th, 2015 as well. The details for both awards are outlined below – we look forward to receiving further high-class nominations!

    RESEARCH CENTER IMPACT AWARD (RCIA): Submission Deadline extended to APRIL 15th, 2015

     

    The PTC Research Center Impact Award aims to recognize the contribution that research centers make to the practice of management in the public, private, and/or third sectors. Research Centers must specifically demonstrate how knowledge gained through the research and programs conducted by the centers have made an impact to management practice. The PTC Research Centre Impact Award is designed to promote the AOM's strategic intent of professional impact. The awards seeks to recognize and celebrate an outstanding research project or programme of research conducted either independently or in collaboration with industry that has had a major and demonstrable impact on management practice or has made a significant difference to the recipients of the research (be it in private, government, non-government and third sectors). Previous recipients of the PTC Research Center Impact Award have been the Center for Effective Organizations at the University of Southern California and the Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship at The University of Michigan.

    2015 NOMINATION PROCESS

    Who is eligible to nominate? 

    Any member of the Academy of Management may nominate candidates.

     

    How long is the period for nominations? 
    The nomination period opens February 10th and closes
    April 15th, 2015.
    Award recipients will be contacted via email on May 15th, 2015.

     

    How to submit a nomination? 
    If you wish to nominate a research center, please forward this email on to the director of the research center (or equivalent) that you wish to nominate, and cc the Chair of the Awards Committee of the Practice Theme Committee, Christof Backhaus, at christof.backhaus@ncl.ac.uk, who will provide a nomination form template and further details. The form may then be filled out by the director of the research center, detailing information on (1) the project/programme of work to which the nomination refers, (2) a list of organisations/groups that have collaborated or contributed to the project/programme of work to which the nomination refers, and (3) a statement detailing why this center is a worthy recipient of the award. In addition, any other information that will assist in the evaluation of the project/programme can be included as well (e.g., supporting letters from beneficiaries).

    THE DIVERSITY & INCLUSION AND PRACTICE THEME COMMITTEES OF THE ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT

    D&ITC BEST PRACTICE IN DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION AWARD: Submission Deadline extended to APRIL 15th, 2015

    Diversity and Inclusion Theme Committee (D&ITC) (established September 1, 2010) is charged to (1) cultivate and advocate ethical behavior in all aspects of our work; (2) provide a dynamic and supportive community for all of our members, embracing the full diversity of our backgrounds and experiences; (3) respect each of our members' voices and seek to amplify their ideas (http://group.aomonline.org/ditc/).

    The Diversity & Inclusion Theme Committee (D&ITC) and the Practice Theme Committee (PTC) of the Academy of Management are calling for nominations for the D&ITC Best Practice in Diversity and Inclusion Award. The D&ITC award aims to recognize exemplary diversity and inclusion best practices that have achieved, or are currently achieving, notable impact on diversity and inclusion in practice, teaching, or research. Nominees must specifically demonstrate how the practices, programs, teaching, or research conducted by the division, interest group, or committee have made notable impacts on advancing diversity and inclusion. Collaborative practices between or among groups that foster diversity and inclusion can illustrate best practices effectively; however, groups may not apply jointly. Rather, a single group, ideally the group that leads and assumes most duties and efforts should be the one nominated on behalf of the joint efforts.

Please explain how the practices, programs, teaching or research have improved member diversity and inclusion in the committee, interest group or division and/or the AOM as a whole.  Please provide appropriate evidence to support your nomination (e.g., satisfaction data, increasing diversity in membership, etc.)

    9.    Please offer any additional information that will assist in the evaluation of your practices, programs, teaching or research to improve member diversity and inclusion. One is welcome to provide additional information that demonstrates the group's visions of and impacts on diversity and inclusion:  leadership, follow ship, services, community outreach, strategic change process and outcome, members' accomplishments, newsletters, meeting minutes, on-line forum discussion, awards and award processes, collaborations with internal and external stakeholders of the Academy of Management (AOM), etc.
