Dear fellow GDO members and AOM attendees,
We have analyzed the results of the 5-year division survey and one theme that came up many times was your wish for more structured networking opportunities. Contacting and networking with others can be very challenging at a huge and potentially overwhelming event such as the AOM annual conference, especially for scholars who do not have an established network such as first time attendees and international members. Therefore, the GDO International Committee has come up with the following idea:
We would like to create a PowerPoint slideshow of all GDO members who will attend the AOM annual conference in Vancouver. The slideshow will then be shown in the background at several GDO social events. This should help you to identify other attendees who share similar interests and get to know each other better.
In order to do this, we need your input! Please create one slide about yourself and send it to us at: david.dwertmann@rutgers.edu
It would be interesting to share your name, where you work, where you are from, research interests, a personal detail, your contact information, and a photograph. Participation is of course voluntarily. Please see the attached sample slides. Please also indicate in the email whether you will attend this year’s AOM conference. We need your slide by August 01 to be included in the final slideshow.
We plan to make the final slideshow available on the GDO website as well and hope that it will help you to identify and contact other GDO members for constructive interaction, exchange, and potential collaboration!
