Papers are out and being reviewed!

Hello to the GDO membership.  For those of us on 'traditional' semesters, I hope you are finding yourself in a good place right now.  I always enjoy the first week of the semester because I like seeing new students.  Due to my administrative duties, I am currently not teaching, but I have a lot of interaction with students and it is often the highpoint of my day.  Second only to hearing the words 'the meeting was cancelled!'

Thank you so very much for the great response to reviewing papers for the GDO division this year.  As Program Chair, it gets really crazy right around now and I am feeling very grateful for the 300+ members who agreed to review.  I know that sometimes we don't get the papers that we find especially interesting.  As I 'mature' I'm finding more and more stuff interesting, as I learn that I know so little relative to our huge field of diversity and inclusion.  While I study race/ethnicity, as well as gender, there are so many other topics relevant to our world today and I am pleased they are all reflected in the submissions.

While I am not expecting journal level reviews, please do provide some comments for the author(s) to improve on, in particular if you are recommending that the paper not be accepted.  We all need that feedback and sometimes a reviewer sees something that we just totally missed.

As of right now, almost all papers have been sent to reviewers and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that people will be able to review what was sent to them.  I'll be sending more papers as necessary but most of you should have them.

Never hesitate to let me know if you have any questions at all.

    Much thanks!
