MANAGING POLYCRISES: GLOBAL STRATEGY UNDER GEOPOLITICAL TENSIONS AND CLIMATE CRISIS
This JIM Call for Papers invites theoretical and empirical contributions exploring how the compounded combination of geopolitical risks and climate crises affects MNEs' global strategy, operations, and governance, and the role of social, economic, political, and other contextual conditions that attenuate or moderate these effects. Geopolitical risks directly disrupt MNE operations and undermine their capacity to engage in climate mitigation and adapt to climate-related challenges. Understanding this compounded risk landscape is therefore critical for advancing research on the strategic, operational, and governance implications for MNEs in an increasingly complex global environment. We seek contributions that extend theoretical insights on each of the contextual influences and that build bridges between them to gain a better understanding of how MNEs can redesign their decisions to tackle the polycrises.
