    Position Overview

    The Department of Management at Temple University's Fox School of Business invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-track/tenured faculty position in Strategic Management with a focus on Innovation and Technology Management, Entrepreneurship, or International Business. While the position is open to candidates at all ranks, preference will be given to advanced (with a few years' experience) Assistant Professor candidates. The appointment will begin July 1, 2026, compensation and teaching load are competitive with those at major research institutions in the U.S.

    We seek scholars who will contribute to our department's excellence by publishing in top-tier journals, delivering effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and engaging in service to the department, college, and profession. Candidates must have a Ph.D. (completed or expected by September 1, 2026) in Strategic Management or a closely related field. For junior candidates, evidence of strong research potential (such as top-tier journal manuscripts under review or a promising pipeline) and excellent teaching capabilities are essential. Senior candidates should have a record of publication in top-tier journals and, if applicable, experience mentoring doctoral students, commensurate with the rank sought.

    Responsibilities and Expectations

    The successful candidate will be expected to:

    • Maintain an active research program with the goal of publishing in premier management journals (e.g. Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, Management Science, Journal of International Business Studies, etc.).
    • Teach and develop courses in Strategy and/or related areas (such as Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology Management, or International Business) at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels.
    • Contribute to the academic community through service activities, such as mentoring students, participating in departmental and college committees, and engaging with professional organizations.

    New faculty will have access to robust research support, including competitive research funding and mentoring. The teaching load is aligned with other leading U.S. research institutions to facilitate a balance between research and teaching.

    Department of Management and Research Environment

    The Department of Management encompasses a diverse group of scholars in Strategic Management, International Business, Entrepreneurship/Innovation, Human Resources, and Organizational Behavior. Our faculty are active contributors to research on how organizations innovate, grow, and compete in an increasingly fast-paced and global environment (including topics such as innovation, globalization of firms, new venture strategy, and technology management). Faculty members regularly publish in top academic journals across these domains and serve in editorial and leadership roles in the field. The department fosters a collaborative and supportive research culture, with doctoral students and faculty working together on projects. We also offer executive education courses and engagement with the business community, ensuring our research and teaching remain impactful and relevant.

    Junior faculty will find excellent mentorship opportunities and a collegial atmosphere. The Fox School has a history of strength in International Business, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship. The department benefits from several research centers and initiatives that support work in innovation, globalization, and strategy.
