We are organizing a symposium panel entitled 'Understanding Corporate Misconduct in the Global Context: Opportunities for Research' during this year's AoM conference in Copenhagen. It will take place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 08:30 – 10:00 CEST (GMT+2) in the Bella Center, Hall B- room B5-m1. Our distinguished panelists are Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra (Northeastern U.), Jonathan P. Doh (Villanova U.), Sun Hye Lee (U. of Surrey), and Christopher B. Yenkey (U. of South Carolina). We look forward to your presence.
Abstract: This panel aims to provide new perspectives on the study of corporate misconduct across the globe. Accusations of social and environmental misconduct in firms' international operations are prevalent. International management research offers opportunities to better understand antecedents and consequences of misconduct in the global context, and potentially also propose solutions to help address misconduct. Four experts will present their perspectives on how international management research can be leveraged into studies of corporate misconduct. They will present opportunities from the field of international management in that regard, for example covering the implications of institutional complexity for addressing misconduct, MNE-stakeholder relationships, the important of considering inter-organizational relationships within global value chains and empirical research strategies for investigating misconduct across different jurisdictions. The subsequent panel discussion and interaction with the audience will bring together these different perspectives.
