Each year the OB Division honors a scholar with the Mentorship Award. The award is sponsored by Antwerp Management School.
The 2018 recipient of the Mentorship Award is Maurice Schweitzer.
Maurice Schweitzer is the Cecilia Yen Koo Professor of Operations, Information and Decisions at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. The letter writers and committee had the following to say about Maurice:
"Maurice has shown an extraordinary ability to help young scholars reach their full potential. In a tough academic world, he convinces young students that this is the best career in the world and then does everything in his power to make that come true for them. Beyond his students, he also inspires everyone around him to be better mentors and better people. Maurice has had a measurable, positive impact on others and, ultimately, on the world, and has done it with kindness, patience, grace, but also with a great sense of humor."
