Dear Colleagues,
Association of Japanese Business Studies (AJBS), founded in 1987, is an international association of professionals actively pursuing the exchange of information and ideas concerning the Japanese business system and its economic, social and cultural environment. AJBS holds annual conferences at venues throughout the world, providing an opportunity for discussion of current developments and research on a range of business, public policy, and teaching issues related to Japan.
Here, we have collated some up-to-date information for you to browse. We have included a collection of recent articles, books, and conference information related to Japanese business studies. We hope you find something useful for your work!
The 35th annual conference of AJBS will be held in July of 2022 in Miami, Florida – USA. The conference chair is Skylar Powell, Western Washington University. The Academy of International Business (AIB) conference will hold its pre-conference events on July 5-6, while the main conference runs from July 6-9, 2022. The Call for Papers and conference information will be announced soon.

Calls for papers Special Issue Conference jointly sponsored by Japan Finance Association and Pacific-Basin Finance Journal
Japan Finance Association (JFA) is pleased to announce an international conference, to be virtually held on March 14-15 (Japan Standard Time), 2022 in collaboration with Pacific-Basin Finance Journal (PBFJ). The conference theme is the Japanese Financial Market, with the aim to promote cutting-edge research and share ideas on the Japanese financial market. All presenters are invited to submit their papers to a conference special issue of the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal. Recent Japanese market shows remarkable phenomenon such as quantitative easing, corporate governance reform, and so on. The special issue conference will contribute to our understanding on one of the largest financial markets in the world.
The JFA-PBFJ Special Issue Conference cordially invites submission of research papers in all areas of finance. Both theoretical and empirical papers can be considered for presentation, while submitted papers should have implications on the Japanese financial market. The Special Issue Conference provides an open platform for finance scholars to promote cutting-edge research and share ideas on the Japanese financial market. Potential research topics include but are not limited to Asset Pricing; Banking; Behavioral Finance; Corporate Finance; Corporate Governance; Derivative Markets; Environmental Finance; Financial Econometrics; Financial Markets; Financial Reporting; Financial Regulations; Financial Sustainability; Funds Management; Investments; Market Microstructure; Monetary Policy; Risk Management.

Research Excellence Awards: Presented papers are eligible for research excellence awards, which will be selected by the Award Committee. Award winners must submit the paper to the special issue.

- The Pacific-Basin Finance Journal Research Excellence Awards (Two Awards; USD1,000 each)
