    Assistant Professor of Management of Public, Healthcare and Not-for-profit Organizations

    Position

    The Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University is inviting applications for a position of Assistant Professor of Management (Tenure Track) with an explicit focus on areas of public, healthcare and not-for-profit management. The topic of interest may vary but issues of organizational and institutional change, business-government relations, application of new technological advancements in public sector organizations are of particular interest to the Department. Diverse methodological approaches (e.g., quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods), including those based on computational text analysis, are all equally welcome.

    The appointment will start on February 1, 2022.

    Bocconi University is a leading research and teaching institution in economics, management and related disciplines in Europe. The Department of Social and Political Sciences combines faculty from several allied disciplines and fields of study-public management & administration, healthcare management & economics, political science, sociology, public economics, history, demography-who share an interest in issues of social and political relevance. The Department counts 60 tenured or tenure-track faculty members. Bocconi is located in Italy's most vibrant center, Milan, a historic, cosmopolitan and international city in a metropolitan area of 3 million that is well connected to the rest of Europe and the world.

    The Department of Social and Political Sciences has a major role in teaching at an undergraduate program in International Politics and Government, and at master's programs in Government and International Organizations, and Politics and Public Policy. The Department also actively contributes to the PhD program in Social and Political Sciences and to post-graduate and executive education programs at SDABocconi School of Management. The successful candidate is expected to teach at all levels.

    Requirements and timelines:

    The successful applicant will have demonstrated strong potential in research. Applicants should hold or expect to complete their PhD before February 1, 2022. Knowledge of Italian is not required. Terms of employment are competitive. 

    Our application review process is on a rolling basis. The final deadline for applications to be received is September 3, 2021. Applicants must submit, via www.unibocconi.eu/jobmarket, the following documents:

    1. a scientific curriculum (including a list of publications)
    2. a job market paper which the candidate intends to submit for this evaluation
    3. a research statement
    4. list of three highly qualified academic referees providing a reference letter.
