HCM Mission: To enhance population health and wellbeing through developing and testing management theory

In the months leading up to the 2026 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, we will use this page as a repository for announcements and updates about the meeting. Here are some important things to remember as we get closer to the big event:

🚨 A Super Important June Newsletter

Please keep an eye out for our next newsletter going out in June 2026 that will include calls for volunteers (without you, we could not do what we do!!), highlight some sessions of interest including the locations of the two Division sponsored socials, thank this year's sponsors, and announce award winners.

📅 Program/Conference Highlights

  1. 🕓 This year, HCM Division sessions will be held at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel (201 North 17th St., Philadelphia, PA 19103).
  2. The HCM Plenary Speaker, Awards Ceremony, and Business Meeting will take place on Saturday, July 1st from 3:30-5:30 PM (17235 HCMD Distinguished Scholar Keynote Address, Awards Ceremony, and Business Meeting). This is a change from our traditional Monday evening placement for this session. We expect for this new Saturday placement to accommodate the greatest number of HCM members’ travel schedules.
  3. 🍷 This year's Division Sponsored Socials will be on Friday and Saturday (July 31 and August 1, 2026). Details about the venue will be shared in the coming months. Unfortunately, higher-than-normal costs and decreasing sponsorship funds have forced the Division to significantly reduce the total number of sponsored socials. Start bugging your Deans and Chairs now if you think you are able to be a sponsor this year. For additional details about sponsorship or membership engagement, contact Amber Stephenson or Geoffrey Silvera)
  4. 🍻 Information about this year's HCM Doctoral Student (and Recent Graduates) Social will also be made available in the upcoming months (day, time, venue, etc.) Division members who are doctoral students or recent graduates are encouraged to attend.

📜 Proposed Changes to HCM Bylaws

In order to reflect an array of improvements to the Division, including the creation of a new DEI Committee, new Division awards, and an effort to ensure fairness and transparency in the Division’s awarding processes, the Executive Committee is proposing a series of changes to the Division bylaws. The proposed changes, as well as respective rationales for each of the changes and an opportunity for feedback, can be found at: https://hcm.aom.org/about-us/2025-proposed-changes-to-the-bylaws

💪 HCM Division Leadership Opportunities

Thank you to all who nominated themselves or another member for HCMD's elected positions. Voting for the four leadership positions will open in May 2026. Please keep an eye out for additional announcements from us and AOM starting in mid-April.
