Widener University's School of Business Administration, with programs accredited by both CAHME and AACSB, invites applications for a tenure-track position in healthcare finance and management at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in August 2017.
Faculty in this position will teach primarily in the CAHME-accredited Healthcare MBA program and in our other AACSB-accredited programs as needed.
Widener is located 15 minutes from the major healthcare hubs of Philadelphia and Wilmington, with a large presence of healthcare systems, academic medical centers and pharmaceutical firms that offer great research and consulting opportunities. Our Healthcare MBA is one of only two programs in the region that is accredited by both CAHME (since 1982) and AACSB (since 1977). Over the last 40 years, our graduates have occupied leadership positions in every major healthcare organization in the Delaware Valley.
Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in the areas of healthcare finance and management.
- Contribute to the school and the university through teaching, research and service.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in healthcare management from a CAHME or AACSB accredited program by the date of appointment. ABD candidates with a planned completion date by August 2017 will be considered.
- Broad knowledge of the healthcare system and industry, and the expertise to teach in the areas of healthcare finance and management. Ability to teach in the area of healthcare informatics will be a plus.
- Demonstrated potential to pursue a productive research agenda.
- Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and helping students develop a marketable portfolio of competencies.
