    Instructor, Health Services Administration

                           

                The undergraduate program in Health Services Administration at Auburn University invites applications for an instructor position beginning Fall 2016.  While this is a five year, limited term nine month appointment, summer teaching is required and will receive additional compensation.

     

    The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to teach and assume full responsibility for a variety of undergraduate courses in health administration.  The successful candidate will also serve as a career mentor to undergraduate students and supervise local and regional student internships. 

     

    Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in health administration, business administration, public administration, or a related discipline; teaching experience at the collegiate level; the ability to travel overnight to set up and monitor internship sites; and the commitment to teach courses on a 12-month basis.  Private healthcare sector experience is desired. The candidate selected for this position must also be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required.

    Auburn is Alabama's largest land grant university, enrolling over 25,000 students.  The B.S. program in Health Services Administration is accredited by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration, and has been continuously accredited since 1995.  It has a strong record of successful placement of its graduates in administration positions and graduate schools. The program is housed in the Department of Political Science, which is a part of the College of Liberal Arts. In addition to the Health Services Administration program, the department offers undergraduate majors in political science and public administration, as well as a Master of Public Administration degree and a Ph.D. program in public administration and public policy.
