Position Summary:
The College of Business at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for a full time instructor position in the Health Administration program. We are seeking a person with:
- an earned doctorate in Health Administration, Health Management or related field, or other terminal degree (ABDs who will complete their doctorates by May 2012 will be considered);
- an academic background or professional experience in the business aspects of healthcare;
- research activities that have resulted in, or will lead to, journal publications and conference presentations;
- an interest in bridging the academic and operational worlds of healthcare management; and,
- a record of successful teaching.
The Health Administration (HA) Program offers Bachelor of Health Services Administration and Master of Health Administration degrees and supports an MBA concentration. We have approximately 300 undergraduate majors and 50 graduate students. The HA program is part of the Management Programs Department. There are currently seven full time faculty members in the HA program. Faculty academic interests are diverse, but share a business or policy basis. This position will require teaching undergraduate and graduate students and some research.
Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is part of Florida's State University System. FAU was established in 1961 and serves approximately 28,000 students in a fast growing region which includes the cities of Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach. The population is multicultural and the area is recognized as a center for genetic and biotech research, tourism, international trade and finance, and retirement. The College of Business is accredited by AACSB at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The position is on the Boca Raton campus. Salary range is $70,000 to $80,000.
The new faculty member will begin work in August 2012, contingent on funding. Initial screening of candidates will begin March 1, 2012.
