    Assistant Professor, Health Services Administration Program

     

     

    The undergraduate program in Health Services Administration at Auburn University invites applications for a nine month, tenure-track assistant professor position beginning August 16, 2016.   Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in health administration, public health, or a closely related discipline by the start date, and present a strong indication of future research productivity in appropriate scholarly outlets.  Extramural grant funding experience is also highly desired. 

     

    The program seeks someone with teaching and scholarly interests that complement those of the current faculty. Areas of need include one or more of the following: Healthcare informatics, health information management, healthcare data analytics, managed care, healthcare operations, or physician practice management. Preference will be given to candidates who have a specialization in the utilization of health information systems and data analytics to manage population health and/or healthcare quality and safety. Successful candidates will have a broad knowledge of healthcare management and the ability to teach across the curriculum as needed.  The individual selected will teach courses to full-time undergraduate students and will also be expected to engage in scholarly activity.  In addition to teaching and research, the successful candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to academic program development, and service within the University, the profession, and community.  The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required.

The program is housed in the Department of Political Science, which is a part of the College of Liberal Arts.
