The Department of Health Law, Policy & Management in the Boston University School of Public Health invites applications for new full-time faculty positions in healthcare management. We are particularly interested in candidates with interests in operations, quality improvement, strategy, and organizational theory.  Ranks are open. A doctoral degree in a relevant field is required.

Duties will include teaching at least two courses per year (including Operations Management, Lean, Organizational Theory, Strategic Management of Health Care Organization) and advising students. The department's M.P.H. degree includes a CAHME-accredited certificate in health care management, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees.

The department is dedicated to research focused on disadvantaged populations in line with the missions of the School of Public Health and the affiliated Boston Medical Center, a safety-net hospital. Examples of faculty research include studies of state government efforts to incentivize efficiency in community hospitals; the implementation of patient navigation programs to reduce disparities in cancer care; and the structure and outcomes of different models of HIV care. The department is also affiliated with a two-site health services research center of excellence funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The balance between teaching and externally-funded scholarly research is flexible and can be individualized. Faculty are appointed under a system of continuously rolling multi-year appointments. The duration of these appointments will correspond to rank and annual merit reviews.

Please send electronic copies of curriculum vitae, statement of teaching and research interests and experiences, teaching evaluations (if available), and names of references to Karen Molloy, Health Law, Policy & Management Department, BUSPH (molloyk@bu.edu). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, beginning on November 1, 2016 so applicants should submit materials promptly. The search will remain open until the positions are filled.
