Widener University's School of Business Administration, with programs accredited by both CAHME and AACSB, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Healthcare Management. This is a tenure-track position starting in August 2018.
Faculty in this position will teach primarily in our CAHME-accredited Healthcare MBA program.
Widener is located 15 minutes from the major healthcare hubs of Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE. The large presence of healthcare systems, academic medical centers and pharmaceutical firms offers great research and consulting opportunities. Our Healthcare MBA is one of only two programs in the region that is accredited by both CAHME (since 1982) and AACSB (since 1997). Over the last 40 years, our graduates have occupied leadership positions in every major healthcare organization in the Delaware Valley.
Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in the Healthcare MBA and the school of business administration.
- Contribute to the school and the university through teaching, research and service.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in healthcare management from a CAHME or AACSB accredited program by the date of appointment. ABD candidates will be considered.
- Broad knowledge of the healthcare system. Industry experience is desirable but not essential.
- Special consideration given to candidates with the expertise and ability to teach in one or more of the following areas of healthcare management - healthcare finance, health information systems and data analytics, process management in healthcare settings.
- Potential to pursue a productive research agenda.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and helping students develop a marketable portfolio of competencies.
