    Assistant Professor of Healthcare Administration


    The Healthcare Administration Department in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Healthcare Administration appointment beginning July 2019. 


    This person would join the department of 3 full-time faculty and 8 adjunct faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. This is an on-campus position and a qualified candidate must teach on the physical Stonehill College campus. 


    The Healthcare Administration Department at Stonehill College maintains an undergraduate program of study certified by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration. There are 75 students pursuing the HCA major and 55 students pursuing the HCA minor.


    Applicants should have the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the areas of operations management and analytics, quality improvement, or health information management systems. The person appointed will be expected to pursue a scholarly agenda with publications; to participate actively in professional societies; and to be current in the broader fields of healthcare administration. 


    The standard teaching load is three courses per semester (fall/spring) with the option to teach additional courses during summer and winter sessions. During the faculty member's first year, a one-course reduction is provided in either the fall or spring semester.


    Applicants must have earned a doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in healthcare administration or a related field. Doctoral candidates who will have finished their degree by September 1, 2019 will be considered. Work experience in healthcare administration is also desired.


    A commitment to service to the Department, School, and College is also essential. The applicant must show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and enjoy working closely with student advisees to establish academic and professional goals.
