    The Division of Health Services Management and Policy in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at any level (i.e., Assistant, Associate, or full Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in health care finance. Professional experience related to health care finance is a plus. Training and research focus are open, including applied healthcare management, health care finance or related areas (health economics, provider reimbursement, comparative effectiveness research, etc.). This position is open rank. However, preference will be given for candidates with at least 3 years of teaching and research experience, a demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications and external funding, and is active in data analytics.

    We seek an outstanding individual with a PhD or an equivalent degree in management, economics, health economics, or business. Experience in collaborative research is a plus, as is work experience in the healthcare industry. Rank and salary will be determined based on the candidate’s credentials.

    The College’s MHA program, established in 1969, is ranked 10th nationally by US News & World Report and is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). The program boasts a number of important features, including small class sizes, actively involved alumni, an innovative clinical rotations course, and excellent post-graduate job placement. The MHA program at Ohio State has been a leader in the teaching of health care finance. William O. Cleverley, the program’s first health care finance professor, gained national and international prominence for his health care finance textbook, now in its 7th edition, and for his many contributions to the field of health care finance. In recognition of Dr. Cleverley’s important and lasting contributions to the field of health care finance, the MHA program’s alumni society raised $1 million to establish the William O. Cleverley Scholarship Program. The successful candidate will have a major role in this program and will have an opportunity to work with and mentor MHA Cleverley Scholars.

    Our multidisciplinary faculty have expertise in the areas of health care management, operations, health policy analysis, health services research, quality-of-care measurement and improvement, and health economics.
