Medical Officer for AHRQ Quality Indicators Program, GS-602-14
The incumbent serves as a clinical expert to internal and external partners on the Quality Indicators (QIs) Initiative housed within AHRQ's Center for Delivery Organization and Markets. Principle duties include:
· Leads national initiatives which facilitate the use and improvement of the QIs, and provides advanced clinical technical consulting in applying QIs to assess and improve healthcare organization performance for all Americans.
· Provides clinical consultation to several critical QI efforts, including the conversion of the QIs to a 10th Revision ICD coding system, refinements of readmission and other efficiency measures, and the enhancement/refinement of QIs using Present on Admission (POA) and lab value data elements.
· Participates in the QI National Quality Forum (NQF) submission and maintenance processes.
· Authors or co-authors articles and other reports for publication related to QI program or measure development activities supported by research portfolios. Represents the organization to inform the clinical and broader healthcare communities as to the uses of the QIs.

Junior Service Fellow Position ( GS11 equivalent).
· Work with senior researchers in Center for Delivery Organization and Markets to develop analyses and tools.
· Contribute to work of Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) tasks; oversee development of user-friendly HCUP products, such as technical reports and analytical software tools that are relevant and useful to targeted audiences.
