    The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions (SHP) Department of Health Services Administration (HSA) announces the opening of two full-time open-rank faculty positions.

    The Department of Health Services Administration comprises the following academic programs:  two doctoral programs (Ph.D.; Executive D.Sc.); master's degree programs in Health Informatics, Health Quality and Safety, residential and executive Health Administration; and an AUPHA- certified undergraduate program in Health Care Management.  The department is currently delivering educational programs internationally, and offers a variety of executive education, consulting and other initiatives.

    The selected applicant will join a diverse and vibrant academic community.  With 35 faculty members, 4,000 alumni, and an enrollment of just under 800 students, the Department has a solid fiscal foundation and an engaged community of alumni and other practitioners.  Department faculty engage in multidisciplinary research programs with faculty from the UAB Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Business, and Engineering. The university has a long-standing reputation for collaboration across its 20 University-Wide Interdisciplinary Research Centers.     HSA is seeking innovative, motivated, and engaged individuals who are committed to participating in our education programs, contributing to our diverse research agenda, and serving the community and profession in activities related to health care management and leadership.

    We are seeking colleagues with an interest in contributing to the educational programs in the department with a focus on upper-level undergraduate courses, while pursuing independent and collaborative research. The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate degree in a relevant discipline, including health information management and health care quality, management, operations, or finance.  Salary, rank, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
